SOP on Segregating Defective Machine/Equipment
1.0 Purpose: The purpose of this document is to laid down a procedure for Segregating Defective Equipment in manufacturing area.
2.0 Scope: This SOP applies to all the defective equipment in manufacturing area.
3.0 Responsibility: Production Chemist to ensure that the procedure is followed.
4.0 Materials and Equipment: As required.
5.0 Procedure:
5.01 Any machine/ equipment found not functioning properly at any time is immediately brought to the notice of Production Chemist by the concerned operator after stopping the machine/ equipment.
5.02 Hearing the complaint, immediately chemist put a label “out of order, do not use” on the machine/ equipment.
5.03 The machine/equipment is repaired In-house by the maintenance department or out sourced agency.
5.04 After the necessary repairs of the equipment and confirmation from the In-house maintenance department regarding correctness of the equipment/ machine, the label “out of order, do not use” is removed and the equipment/ machine is put again in services.
